Important Information About Your

Trip To the USA

CheerTravel exists to support you as programme owners, athletes, spectators and families – allowing us to take care of the travel organisation, so that you can focus on the competition and making lasting memories.

We operate through Travel Counsellors; an award winning international company that offers full financial protection, preferential rates with a wide range of suppliers, and a 24/7 Duty Office.

Firstly, thank you for booking with CheerTravel! We can’t wait to support you this season.

Please see below the information you need to know in the lead up to your trip.

It is your responsibility to check and fulfil the passport, visa, health and immigration requirements applicable to your trip. We can only provide general information about this. You must check requirements for your own specific circumstances with the relevant Embassies and/or Consulates and your own doctor as applicable. Requirements do change, and you must check the up to date information, in good time before departure.

If you are a UK passport holder, you can view the UK Government website here for US travel.

Alternatively, you can search all passport holder's entry requirements here.

US Visa

You will need to get a visa or an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa waiver to enter or transit the USA as a visitor. You should consult the US State Department website to determine which you will need.

Please apply here - https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ - as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Please follow the above official link or website through the gov.uk website (beware of rogue websites). The ESTA visa should be no more than $21 per application.

Travel Insurance

Every individual must have travel insurance, ideally before/soon after booking. Click here for a quote with ‘True Traveller Insurance’ - who cover competitive cheerleading as standard in all policies.

The underwriters have advised:

'Cheerleading, by its definition, contains components of tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting, so we would cover medical expenses for any sudden injury sustained in this activity, subject of course to the general exclusions of the policy.

To use the World Championships as an example, note we do not cover competing at International events as a national representative. So, if the person is, for example, representing their country, then we cannot provide cover. However we can insure those who are participating abroad at a local level (e.g. representing County or club) under our Traveller Pack.'

Please note that we cannot give recommendations or advice on travel insurance, we can only make you aware of the policies existence. If you require further support, please contact True Traveller Insurance directly.

Passport Validity

For the USA, everyone’s passports should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. UK passport holders do not need any additional period of validity beyond this.

Non-British passport holders, including other EU nationals, should obtain up to date advice on passport and visa requirements from the Embassy, High Commission or Consulate of your destination or country(ies) through which you are travelling.

Vaccination Requirements

As of 12 May 2023, there are no COVID-19 vaccination requirements for travel to the United States. A pre-departure COVID-19 test is also not required.

Additional Requirements / Requests

We will do our utmost to cater for any special requirements you may have. If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your booking, please provide us with full details before you make your booking so that we can try to advise you as to the suitability of your chosen arrangements. We may require you to produce a doctor’s certificate certifying that you are fit to travel.

Dietary requirements will be asked for at time of collecting all passport information. Whilst we will always pass these on to the airline, we do recommend individuals take additional food to cater where possible.

The final balance of the cost of your arrangements (including any applicable surcharge as detailed above) is due 3 months prior to your departure - exact date confirmed with your booking confirmation. If we do not receive the final balance in full and on time, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you. We will remind you of your balance due date prior to this deadline.

CheerTravelUK is not liable for any changes to the competition time, location or event status. If a competition is cancelled, the travel package still stands and would be subject to standard Terms and Conditions. In this circumstance, we will always endeavour to achieve the best outcome for you and your club.

We worked very hard to manage the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19 to achieve the best solutions for teams affected by cancellations at short notice.
